Socks’ Health Update: September 2019

Here we are, almost exactly two months after Socks was diagnosed with copper storage syndrome.

And I’m extremely happy to report that my baby is doing so well.

He’s currently on four different medications (SAMeLQ 225, Penicillamine, Prednisone, and Metronidazole).

He’s eating the Hill’s Diet l/d, a special food for dogs with liver issues.

He’s had no bad days since he started on this program.

He’s back to his normal self and I could not be more thrilled.

I’m not entirely happy about how much medication he’s on but we have a check-up appointment on October 10th, during which they’ll look at his blood and determine if his insides are doing as good as he appears to be doing on the outside. I’m hopeful the results will show he’s back to normal and he’ll be able to get off most of these medications.

Stay tuned for an October health update!
