Choose Your Guest List Wisely

If you’re gathering a bunch of dogs together who have never interacted before, be careful about who you invite. Maybe the Pomeranian down the street gets along well with your dog but tends to dislike big breeds. Or maybe your dog’s German Shepherd pal from day camp gets nervous around a lot of other dogs. Try to make sure you’re inviting canine friends who enjoying socializing and will have a good time.

Make Fun Foods

Yes, you could grab a bunch of different treats from your favorite pet store or local bakery but isn’t it more fun to make goodies for your pup and his pals at home? Search for dog cake and cupcake recipes, dog ice cream, and other homemade treats. Don’t go overboard, though. Remember that dogs have sensitive stomachs and feeding them too much food they normally don’t eat can cause digestive issues.

Set Up Games

Play Find It, Hide and Seek, and find other great games for dogs (check out this article for more info). You can also find plenty of fun toys at your local pet store or online. You could even set up a photo booth, which is fun for humans and dogs.

Don’t Drag the Party Out

Dogs can be a bit like children in that they can become over-stimulated and tired after hours of action. Try to limit the party time to three hours in case any of your guests or your own dogs start getting cranky and taking that crankiness out on other dog guests and humans.

Throwing a dog party is a lot of fun, and with these tips, you can start making a guest list and sending out invitations asap!
